Mikey and Amy’s wedding was such a wonderful day. They got married in the Odgen temple. For it being a November wedding the weather was not bad if you hung out in sun. It did get pretty cold if you weren’t in sun, but November weather in Utah you never know what you will get, so I thought it was a perfect day for a wedding. Amy’s sister and her brother were nice to stay behind when we did their individual shots after temple and give her their coat when she needed it. I always feel bad for the brides because they always have short sleeves and are pretty cold if they have a colder wedding date. The men at least are in their many layers in their tuxes.

Mikey is the 5thkids out of 10 kids in his family. All his siblings were able to be there for the wedding day, which was awesome. One of his brothers is going to med school and was even able to make it to the wedding. His mom had the first 8 of her kids in 10 years! They are all born over a 15-year span. Casey called me on his way home from the reception and told me that we needed to have 10 kids. I just laughed at him. Although I think we will stick to a much smaller number of kids, it is fun to dream. Casey and I love having parties and family gatherings and we know later in life we would love having all those kids, but little kids are lots of work and I just know I couldn’t have that many. But praises to all those women who have the patience to bring that many kids into the world, I’m jealous!

The reception was at the Cooper Nickel in Ogden. We have shot there one time before so when we heard that’s where their reception was we were excited because we knew what a great venue it is! First, they did a ring ceremony and had their stake president conduct it. One thing they did to help everyone be aquatinted with each other was they had one person from each table tell who everyone was at their table, and how they were related to the bride or groom. That way everyone knew who everyone was. Then her dad wrote and read a poem. It was a tradition in their family to write a poem for the bride and groom. The tradition came from a family member that passed away, so dad carried on the tradition. After, everyone had catered, super delicious gourmet thin crust pizza, and glass sodas, which was unique and cool.  For the reception, they had doughnuts, camel apples, and hot chocolate. So the day was filled with really yummy food.

I love big dance parties and this one had a fun bunch boogying all night on the dance floor. They all got really into it, which makes it fun to capture. They had lots of fun 80s music with a mix of some newer music. It was a good mix because everyone seemed to love it.

They did cake cutting, garter toss, and bouquet toss. When Mikey toss the garter it got caught in the ceiling and his brothers worked together and threw another brother up to get it. His youngest brother got the garter. He recently is home from an LDS mission and has a girlfriend so he may really be next in line to get married. A little girl caught Amy’s bouquet toss but then gave it to the girlfriend of Mikey’s little brother, so they now have double to luck. The whole wedding went smooth and was a fantastic day!
