We have gotten to work with the Durfey family a handful of times last year and obviously, they are naturals behind the camera. Check out Anzleigh’s birthday session, we only had like 20 minutes and being the pro she is, we were able to get plenty of awesome shots! When Casey came home after taking these, I honestly thought the mother was one of the daughters! I mean can I please look that youthful after having 7 kids?!
So I have been very behind on blogging lately. It’s been a little chaotic over the last month. Our sweet Jaedyn was admitted to Primary Children’s the first part of February. The last day of January I gave her a bath and noticed she has lots of bruises all over her legs. They concerned me so I kept on eye on them that day. Later there was even more and they circled around her knee which was odd. That made me think they weren’t from her bumping them while playing since they were in a circle around her knee also. The bruises were raised and hurt her when I touched them. I decided to take her into the doctor. At first, they thought they were just as they call it summer legs but once we spoke more they decided to check her blood since I have a blood clotting disorder (My disorder is with the blood clotting too much, especially during pregnancy.) Later that night at about 9 pm I got a call from the doctor to tell me that her INR levels were extremely high and her blood was not clotting. He said they we may have to end up taking her to Primary Children’s Hospital. Lucky for us we were leaving the next morning to go to Salt Lake for a wedding anyways. Once they spoke with Primary Children’s the next morning they had us take her blood again because they thought maybe the levels were incorrect since they were so high. Her platelet levels and white blood count were normal, which was good news though. We got her blood drawn once again and it was still super high so we took her in the ER the next day at Primary Children’s. She was in great spirits though and felt good! She was making all the nurses laugh and just being her spunky, sassy, adorable self. While we were in the hospital they gave her plasma to help give her the clotting factors that she needed. They also gave her vitamin K in hopes that it may help also. The vitamin K didn’t seem to do much but the plasma helped her levels go down and her bruises to disappear. Originally they wanted us to stay in Salt Lake once we were discharged from the hospital because it would be too unsafe to drive home just in case we were to get in a car accident. Luckily her levels came down enough they were barely in the safe zone so they let us come back home to Idaho. We have been taking her to EIRMC to get weekly blood draws to watch her blood levels. Once we know more I will post about it. Having your child be sick or not know what’s going on with them is the worst feeling. I would take all the problems away from her if I could. And oh how I wish I could. Being a mother is the best thing that has ever happened to me, and I can’t even fathom the thought of something being wrong with my one of my children. We will just continue to pray, and hope for the best!
