I love going to Swan Valley to take pictures. It’s one of my favorite places to go because it’s so beautiful up there. It’s about 45 minutes from my house but worth the drive. This night, in particular, we stopped in our first location and got some fantastic shots, we could have easily called it a night as the sun set but we decided to keep going and drove to one last spot and the pay off was so worth it! The picture by the water at Palisade Reservoir of Brianna turned around and holding up her skirt was one of the last shots of the night but is one of my favorite pictures this year! I am so glad we decided to race against the sun setting and go to one more location! I love that I live near such beautiful places to take pictures. Brianna and Jordan are both firefighter so it was fun to get a few shots of them in their gear.

My family and I recently went up to Swan Valley just for the day to spend some good quality time together and of course get some square ice cream! Anyone else love square ice cream? My daughter thought it was the coolest thing that it was square! We spent time down by the dam throwing rocks into the water also. I love having days open to just spend time with my family. I will try to do a blog post soon of our day in Swan Valley because I took my film camera that day and got a few shots throughout the day! I even had someone take a picture of the four of us and he asked if we wanted him to take lots of shots so that one will work, luckily he asked and didn’t just take a bunch since it was on my film camera. Although I would love like 8 of the same shots of my family, I wanted to save them for other pictures. That is a hard thing with film but also my favorite thing about it. It makes me take every picture I take with such purpose and in turn, I feel like has made me a better photographer.
