We started out the day taking pictures in a private park owned by their family friend. I always love going to new locations to shoot, so I was excited when they told me about it, and it definitely didn’t disappoint. Next was the ceremony at the Hilton Garden Inn in Idaho Falls. I surprisingly hadn’t shot a wedding there before. I have been there plenty of times for other inside events, but I really enjoyed seeing their outdoor part of their venue. It was beautiful. You can see the river from the ceremony location, which was a great backdrop. The whole wedding went so smoothly thanks to their great wedding planner and florist Micha Style at Flora Art in Idaho Falls. Check out her work, she is talented! All their siblings poured sand into a jar to represent the unity of their families coming together. I hadn’t seen this before, but loved the idea behind it. The highlight of the night was the dance. The guests danced into the night, and had quite the dance moves. Everyone was laughing and enjoying him or herself, which was a great ending to an awesome day! Also my favorite second shooter, my beautiful wife Brandi came and helped photograph the ceremony. I always love when we get to work together. She does all the back end stuff for our business, which is so helpful, but I really enjoy when we get to take pictures together too. Speaking of which, having a second shooter at a wedding is such an excellent thing if you budget allows it. That way I completely focus on the bride and groom and the second shooter can focus more on the surroundings and people interacting. But I promise with or without a second shooter to capture the ambience, and special moments on your wedding day. I love that that is my job!
