The Hobbs family was all in town for a funeral and decided since they were unexpectedly together to get family pictures. Their daughter Lindsey contacted me about doing them because I am doing her family pictures in August! I met Lindsey when her adorable daughter modeled for Nomies a leather mocassins company for kids. I was doing the photo shoot for their new website and her daughter was so cute with my little boy who is about the same age. She kept coming up and kissing him! And you can see from the pictures why she was a model, she is adorable!Idaho Family Photographer
My favorite moments in family photo shoots are the in-between moments. For this particular shoot, they wanted them in their backyard, and when I got there I understood why. It was beautiful! Their backyard has a tramp in the ground and the kids were having so much fun jumping and playing tag on the grass. I loved that I got to capture the fun true interaction between the cousins. It can be difficult for parents to not get frustrated when their kids are being “crazy” and uncooperative, which I totally understand and fell into the same tramp when we took our family pictures a while back. However, if the kids are bored and restless from being asked to stand still and smile for a long period of time, they often don’t want to cooperate and it can make things difficult. It is when they are having fun and enjoying it that we get the best pictures. This family was great at letting their kids have fun in the process and I feel like it shows through the pictures.
A mix of film and digital images. All film images were shot on a Pentax 645n medium format film camera with Kodak Portra 400 film and developed at The FIND Lab.
