Kendra and Sam || Swan Valley Engagement Photographer

Swan Valley Engagements || Idaho Engagement PhotographerI had so much fun working shooting Sam and Kendra’s Swan Valley engagement session. The weather this year has been so crazy, we honestly did not know if we were going to snow or clear fields for their engagement session in February. Last February, we would’ve been drugging through three feet of snow. We got the perfect mix of warmth and a little bit of snow. You would never be able to tell how cold they actually were by looking at the images. It definitely got better once we got out of the shade and had the warm sun on us. I would definitely call it a success.

Let’s talk about this crazy weather this winter for a minute. We bought our house a little over a year ago. As a first-time homeowner, there were SO many things to buy. Ladders, hose, more furniture etc. So the first winter in our house we didn’t have a snow blower. It was such an intense winter of course, and I felt like I was going to break my back out there shoving my driveway. Brandi was pregnant at the time, so obviously we didn’t want her out there shoveling the icy driveway too. My nice neighbors would offer me their snow plowers a handful of times when they would see me struggling out there. Well, this winter we made sure to budget for a snowblower because I knew I could not keep up with another winter like the last one. Well we bought one, and have only used it TWICE. And honestly those 2 times I used it, I could have probably just shoveled. I wanted to use it though since I bought it and it hadn’t been used yet. I guess we will see what this next winter brings, mild or intense. If it’s anything like last winter I will be thrilled I ended up buying one. Although I didn’t end up needing my snow blower this year and I was a little bitter I bought one, I like the mild winter so much that I can’t complain!

Mix of film and digital images. All film images were shot on a Pentax 645n medium format film camera with                                                                                                         Kodak Portra 400 film and developed at The FIND Lab.
