In-home family sessions on film are becoming my new favorite thing. I just want to capture all the love and interaction between families. Being in their home helps allow for this to happen easier. You can get genuine interaction and see the love the family has for each other where they are their most comfortable.
Paige and my wife went to middle school together, and they hadn’t seen each other in a very long time. We were so excited when they asked us to come to Utah to take there pictures. It was so great getting to meet these two and spend a couple hours getting to know them. One of my life goals is to travel to Italy, and they spent a couple weeks there for their honeymoon so it was so fun to hear all about it! These two have been waiting to have a kid for a long time, and I love that I was able to take pictures of them in there beautiful home with there brand new bundle of joy. Can we also take a second and talk about how amazing baby boy’s hair is? He has more hair than my 16 month old boy has right now, not to mention it being perfectly styled.
Also quick #nonpaid shout out. If you are in South Jordan area and looking for a place to stay, you should check out the Embassy Suites. Staying in a hotel is always fun, but this hotel was extra special. The breakfast had an incredible continental breakfast with delicious made-to-order omelets. Plus the bacon was so so good, which is what we all really care about anyways right? At night they had a thing called social hour from 5-7 where they had some snacks and FREE drinks (including alcohol). We don’t drink alcohol but I thought that was pretty sweet idea and I made sure to fill up on Diet Coke. It had just opened 2 weeks prior so we figure the price will go up eventually since it was so nice, but we got it for a steal of a deal. We love any excuse to travel, and we are happy this amazing job allows for it. It was a great weekend in Utah full of swimming, relaxing, yummy food and seeing friends and some of my wife’s cousins.
All film images were shot on a Pentax 645n medium format film camera with Kodak Portra 400 film and developed at The FIND Lab.
