Michelle and Ben || Swan Valley Family Photographer

Another Swan Valley shoot in the books, and this time we luckily didn’t get eaten alive by mosquitoes like this shoot here when my client text me afterward with over 100 bites! It’s so great that we live so close to such a beautiful area like Swan Valley.

I love that I get to meet so many new people through photography. Michelle is from Seattle and Ben’s father was in the service so he lived all over. He said the most interesting place that he got to live was in Germany! I want to travel the world more in the future, and I’m sure that was such a cool experience to not only go to so many places but also live there. Ben and Michelle meet at BYU-Idaho in a country swing dance class. Fun fact; Ben is a Pharmacist and works in the same building that I had my first job, the former Eastgate Drug. He still works with some of the same people I used to work with!

During our shoot, they told me that they tried to set up a tripod and take their own pictures of themselves. They said it so much harder to set up a tripod and try to pose themselves and make it look good. It was nice to hear because often times people do think it is easy to take pictures, but it has taken me a lot of time and practice and investment in the right equipment to get me to where I am today. It’s nice to hear that my work is valued.

Something else that is kind of funny, we have had the opportunity to work with SO many different Michelle’s this year. Brandi, my wife, does all the scheduling for the business and every time she tells me she has booked a shoot with another Michelle I think she has to be joking. They have all been so fun to work with, and I’m glad so many Michelle’s have reached out to have me take their pictures!

Mix of film and digital images. All film images were shot on a Pentax 645n medium format film camera with Kodak Portra 400 film and developed at The FIND Lab.2018-10-16_0004.jpg2018-10-16_0005.jpg2018-10-16_0006.jpg2018-10-16_0007.jpg2018-10-16_0008.jpg2018-10-16_0011.jpg2018-10-16_0009.jpg2018-10-16_0010.jpg2018-10-16_0013.jpg2018-10-16_0015.jpg2018-10-16_0012.jpg2018-10-16_0016.jpg2018-10-16_0017.jpg2018-10-16_0014.jpg
