I had been talking with Kandice through Instagram for a while about doing some family pictures for them while they were in town and I’m so glad that we were able to make it happen! She currently lives in Iowa and was coming to Idaho to visit family. She really wanted to get pictures in the beautiful Idaho mountains, so we went up to the Swan Valley to take these. I think the location turned out gorgeous. While we were there though, we pretty much got eaten alive by mosquitos. Kandice text me after and said that she counted and she had 150 bites! Yikes! Her adorable little girl, Maisie, somehow didn’t get any though, which is awesome! She reminded me a lot of my little girl which was fun. They are both about the same age, and have a similar spunky personality. I loved the flower crown that she wore, and I know my daughter would love one too! I need to keep that in mind next time we get our family pictures done. At one point she even put the flower crown on her dad’s head, and he wore it like a champ. Later that night when I got home from the shoot, Kandice text me and said that night during Maisie’s prayer, she mentioned her new friend Casey and all the bugs. So it must have been a memorable night for her too!

It means so much to me when I hear back from the people I do shoot for. It’s so nice when they go out of there way to tell me if they like their pictures. Kandice has been so nice to let me know that they loved their pictures, which means so much to me. She told me that her husband said “How will we ever choose what to print? There are so many good ones. They were worth every mosquito bite!” Hearing that just makes my job and all my mosquitos bites worth it! Kandice is also a talented photographer which is also fun!
