Island Park is such a gorgeous place, and we are lucky to live relatively close it. The week we took these photos, I had scheduled two photoshoots the same week for Casey in Island Park. I usually wouldn’t do that since he works full time as a speech pathologist, and then he would spend the evenings driving to Island Park and back and wouldn’t see our kids. But it was in the midst of our crazy busy summer with houseguests and friends visiting from out of town, and I did it without realizing. So I felt guilty, plus wanted to spend more time with my husband that week, so for the second shoot of the week, I convinced my mother in law to watch the kids the whole night, and I went with Casey to this shoot. I’m so glad I did! We had a wonderful time despite the standstill traffic most the way to Island Park, which luckily we were, for the most part prepared for (Casey learned the hard way on the shoot earlier in the week). The Todd family was awesome. Everyone was so nice, and the grandkids were adorable. I loved the way they all interacted with each other. It really made me want 5 kids. 5 adult kids, but man, I don’t know if I can handle 5 little kids haha. Anyways I used to go on shoots with Casey all the time before we had kids, so I loved being there with him again and getting to actually meet the clients. I am the one communicating with almost all our clients before they go to the shoot and meet Casey. I answer all emails, do the invoicing, contracts, and scheduling. I feel like I know the people and brief Casey on them before he goes to the shoot, but I don’t meet them often, so I loved actually interacting with Todd family. Once the shoot was over, we went to a pizzeria in Island Park and got dinner. If you have young kids, you know that alone time is few and far between, so getting to drive to Island Park and back and have dinner with him was fantastic!
