We found the cutest little pine farm that the owners have been so gracious to us and let us do our photos shoots there. Its been a great green backdrop for these colder photo shoots lately. Everyone has been champs through the cold, and I have been especially pleased with how the little kids have handled it. (Well at least it looks like they didn’t mind the cold too much from the photos since I wasn’t actually there.) We had so many shoots scheduled in November, and Casey said they have tried all kinds of tricks to stay warm including blankets, warming up in the car, running around to warm up, wearing coats until the very last second then throwing them off, and big group hugs. It’s a blessing living in a place that has all 4 seasons. I try to enjoy them all but once Christmas is over, I’m pretty over the snow and ready for the warmth. Anyone else feel this way? I lived in North Carolina until I was 8 and my parents got divorced. I went back to visit my dad every summer and every Christmas until I was 21. Therefore I never saw a white Christmas until I was 20 years and it actually snowed in North Carolina, and on Christmas Day which was amazing and shocking! Most Christmas days in North Carolina were in the 50,60 or even 70 degrees. Casey’s first Christmas in North Carolina he posted a picture that cracked me up. It said: “It’s beginning to feel a lot like…summer?” Haha. Anyways I think I never really loved the snow because I don’t ski/snowboard or do a lot of winter activities and never even had the opportunity to have a white Christmas which is the best day to have snow. Now that I am in Idaho for Christmas I have learned to love it more but I am still ready for it to be gone come January 1st. I was surprised that we hadn’t gotten snow yet for these pictures, but we were still happy with how they turned out, and are enjoying the little bit of green we have left!

Mix of film and digital images. All film images were shot on a Pentax 645n medium format film camera with Kodak Portra 400 film and developed at The FIND Lab.
